We all have beautifully different perspectives of this place we call home. These are based on our experiences, relationships, and lessons we've learned, and the biggest blessing is that we get to keep on learning with each new day that comes. I've come to the realization that listening is one of the most valuable acts we can do for the reason that we can discover so much this way. Here is a little of the wisdom I have gained over my 22 years so far (in my opinion), and topics I will touch more on as this blog grows. <3
- every creature on this planet, big and small, has a precious worthiness. we should strive to see.
- there is so much clarity in connection- to each other, and to the land.
- life really is so much sweeter when you have others to love. keep your people around, and tell them you love them.
- change is quite constant and inevitable. learn to live a little lighter, and live fully with what the present has to offer.
- not taking things so seriously is a game-changer; however, it's cool to care.
- small acts do make a difference. large, community action are even greater, and possible to achieve with effort.
This is where I'll end my list for today, but just wanted to share what lies in my heart and mind. Through my future words and captures, I hope you begin to understand where I'm coming from.
Two of my greatest passions are sustainability and photography. This is what I've studied throughout college (at Grand Valley State University- go Lakers!!), and what I focus my work towards. I'm sure my images will point in this direction as I often incorporate the environment in some way; however, as someone who is beginning to take my steps into the real world as they say post-school, I aspire to explore many different realms of photographing subject-wise.
Thank you for being here, for reading, and for opening this positive door of social media. In my eyes, the space for creativity that these kind of platforms open up has so much power in the spread of knowledge and inspiration. I love it.
And I love writing! And sharing in this way. Soooooo stay tuned!
peace, kat :)
